About Us
The Mission
To propel people on journeys of faith through dynamic preaching in the Episcopal Church.
The Episcopal Preaching Foundation is committed to raising the standards on preaching in the Episcopal Church
The Episcopal Preaching Foundation (EPF) was founded in 1988 by A. Gary Shilling, an economic consultant and investment advisor who is well-known for his appearances in Forbes, New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg as a commentator. Shilling believes that excellent sermons will help church attendees and attract newcomers. Through programs like the Preaching Excellence Program (PEP) for Episcopal seminaries, the Preaching Foundation works with the church’s clergy and lay preachers to enhance their preaching skills. The Preaching Foundation’s mission is to improve, support, and enhance the level of preaching in the Episcopal Church.
Every year, the alumni list continues to grow, counting more than 3,000 people, including the Episcopal Church’s former Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori. The Episcopal Preaching Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
EPF’s signature programs:
