Welcome to the Episcopal Preaching Foundation
For 30 years the mission of the Episcopal Preaching (EPF) has been to improve, support, and enhance preaching in the Episcopal Church.
The Episcopal Preaching Foundation's 30th Anniversary Celebration was held at the Roslyn Retreat Center, in Richmond, Virginia concurrently with the 2017 Preaching Excellence Program (PEP).
A rousing sermon was given by The Honorary Chairman of The EPF; The Presiding Bishop, The Most Reverend Michael B. Curry during the magnificent service attended by 750 worshipers.
The anniversary event was a spirited and joyful articulation of the EPF's mission of Preaching the Word.
The 2017 Preaching Excellence Program was conducted in partnership with the John W. Templeton Foundation and highlighted the work of Dr, Everett Worthington, Professor of Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University to bring The Science of Forgiveness into the Practice of Preaching to the EPF's two flagship programs for seminarians and for clergy; PEP and PEP II respectively. The preaching program was led by The Reverend Dr. Micah Jackson, Professor of Homiletics at the Seminary of the Southwest, a past EPF Board Member and The Reverend Dr. Stephen Smith, Rector at St. Patrick's Church in Dublin, OH and a EPF Board Member.
The 2017 Plpt Sermon Challenge was held concurrently with this summer's PEP programs,
centering on the theme of Forgiveness. See the winning preachers and read their sermons...
