What We Offer
Preaching Excellence Program (PEP)
At the heart of this conference are small preaching groups mentored by faculty members. In these groups, participants deliver prepared sermons and receive appreciative feedback. Groups bond, risk, encourage, grow, and learn!
Preaching Excellence Program II for Active Clergy
This program is a unique opportunity for active clergy to hone their preaching craft and to be responsive to the dynamically changing mission field. The weeklong program, either in-person conference or virtual, features outstanding and imaginative faculty from many denominations.
Lay Preacher Training Initiative
This groundbreaking lay leadership program is a two-year, local formation experience designed to prepare effective, confident, and passionate preachers in the lay order of our Church.
Deacons Conferences
“The mission of the diaconate has never been more central to the needs of the Church. Deacons point us in the direction where the Church can be of service to the world in these increasingly dismaying times; to be fully effective in this role, the diaconate needs to speak powerfully and authentically from the pulpit. “
Stephen Smith, Dean of Faculty
Preaching Conference for Spanish-Speaking Deacons
The conference provides guidance on sermon preparation and delivery, recognizing the unique role of the deacon to embody the Church in the community.
Diocesan Conferences
A two-day preaching-intensive program equips preachers with the tools needed to enrich their preaching ministries for years to come.
Local Formation Partnerships
The Preaching Foundation provides the homiletics curriculum for the Iona Collaborative, a virtual formation experience for those to be ordained outside a residential seminary experience.
Seminary-Affiliated Partnerships
The Preaching Foundation partners with Candler School of Theology, and the General Theological Seminary, providing materials and training for homiletics and offering J-term curriculum for credit.
