PEP II NATIONAL PREACHING CONFERENCE FOR PARISH CLERGY
Theme: Preaching in the Time of Covid
Once per year, the EPF gathers a select group of practicing parish ministers to attend PEP II, the 4-day residential Preaching Excellence Program adapted from EPF’s flagship Preaching Excellence Program for seminarians. PEP II offers a week-long dive into sermon preparation and delivery, leaving participants with renewed enthusiasm for the privilege of preaching and an enhanced set of tools for crafting a focused, compelling homily. Attendance is encouraged by those relatively new to parish ministry, as well as seasoned preachers who come to fine-tune their craft and renew their enthusiasm for preaching.
All registrants receive financial assistance with travel and accommodations, making PEP II a privileged opportunity for clergy to work on their preaching skills.
Participants will participate in an integrated mix of plenary talks by exemplary preachers and thought leaders and supportive peer-to-peer critique from peers and EPF’s trained facilitators. PEP II earns accolades from its alumni for content and connections:
“So glad I got away and got a reboot to my preaching, both the preparation and the delivery. Met wonderful folks, and returned home refreshed and motivated” – PEPII Participant, 2018
